The Opportunity
A research and technology company providing development and support to leading international clients operating cutting-edge financial trading technologies seeks an experienced software engineer to participate in the development cycle of the company’s automated platform and support systems. This is not a work-from-home position.
The individual
The ideal candidate will have excellent all round computing skills, mathematical ability, and a passion for software development and technology. They will be able to understand, anticipate and respond to the company’s system development requirements, be a team player, and take ownership of projects.
The company will train and mentor the successful candidate, developing their knowledge and skillset, and as such a desire to learn and grow is essential.
Requirements
· Degree in science/computing/numerate/engineering field.
· Experienced and comfortable in C++ or C#.
· Deep interest and understanding of software development and object-oriented design principles.
· Understanding of threading, data structures, design trade-offs, and code optimization
· Strong teamwork and communication skills
· CV submission must be in English; interviews will be in English
The following will be considered an advantage
· Python
· Large data set processing
· Linux command line tools, scripting tools and basic system administration
· Working with financial market data providers and/or FIX protocol
· SQL databases and their development, T-SQL stored procedures, functions, indexes and query optimization
· Messaging middleware
