Job Description: Maintenance Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Engineer to support the smooth operation of our facilities. This role combines hands‑on technical work with contractor supervision, warehouse oversight, and responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment. Occasional short visits to our global offices will be required, so an active passport is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical & General Maintenance
Carry out routine and reactive maintenance across the site, with a strong focus on electrical systems.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards.
Perform general building maintenance, including basic carpentry, painting, and minor repairs.
Conduct basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and maintaining water systems.
Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and maintain accurate records.
Contractor & Vendor Supervision
Coordinate and supervise external contractors performing specialist work.
Ensure all contractors follow site safety procedures and deliver work to agreed standards.
Review contractor performance and report issues or improvements as needed.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
Oversee warehouse operations, including stock control, goods-in/out, and equipment storage.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure essential maintenance supplies are available.
Implement efficient storage and organisation systems.
Cleaning & Facilities Oversight
Supervise internal and external cleaning teams to ensure high standards of cleanliness across all areas.
Monitor cleaning schedules and address any issues promptly.
Support general facilities upkeep to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Travel Requirements
Make occasional short visits to global offices to support maintenance or facilities needs.
Maintain an active passport and be willing to travel at short notice when required.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role.
Strong electrical knowledge and hands‑on experience (qualification preferred but not essential depending on local requirements).
Basic plumbing skills and general building maintenance capability.
Experience supervising contractors and/or cleaning teams.
Good organisational skills, particularly in warehouse or inventory management.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and respond effectively to urgent issues.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
